Insurance Exams for Quebec and Mutual Funds Exams for Canada
In order to be able to offer financial products and services in Québec, you must hold a certificate to practice issued by l’Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF).
Insurance of Persons Exams
If you would like to offer the following products to your clients, life insurance, disability insurance, critical illness insurance as well as segregated funds you need to pass exams given by the AMF to obtain your insurance of person’s license.
The following is the list of exams you must pass:
- 01-101: Applying the legal concepts and legislation pertaining to insurance of persons and to the activity of a representative in the insurance of persons sector
- 01-201: Applying taxation concepts to professional practice – Insurance of Persons
- 01-301: Preparing an individual life insurance plan adapted to a client's needs, in particular on the basis of an analysis of the client’s financial situation and ability to pay the premium
- 01-302: Preparing an individual disability insurance plan adapted to a client's needs, in particular on the basis of an analysis of the client’s financial situation and ability to pay the premium
- 01-308: Preparing a segregated funds proposal and an individual financial products plan adapted to a client's needs
If you would like to offer mutual funds in Canada to your clients and become a representative you need to pass an investment funds exam in Canada.
